James Bond Drops Catchphrases .: || 09/22/2008 - 2:20 AM ||
Producers of the new James Bond film Quantum Of Solace are set to anger die-hard 007 fans - they have dropped all of the superspy's catchphrases.
Director Marc Foster says, "There was a 'Bond, James Bond' in the script. There are several places where we shot it as well, but it never worked as we hoped. I just felt we should cut it out and Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson (the film's producers) agreed, too.
"It's nice to be open-minded about the Bond formula. You can always go back to them later on."

James Bond Game tipped to become an annual title .: || 09/17/2008 - 2:10 AM ||
Rumours currently circulating the Internet are saying that Activision Blizzard will be releasing annual games based on the James Bond franchise, even if no movie is being released. An analyst from Cowen and Company, Doug Cruetz, is quoted as saying, 'James Bond will become an annual franchise, which we had not necessarily expected given the lack of an accompanying movie next year.'
Activision currently has the licencing rights to the Bond franchise until 2014. Given there's no further Bond films on the immediate horizon, it sounds like maybe we can look forward to 007-09, 007-10 and so on.
James Bond: Quantum of Solace, based on the upcoming film of the same name, as well as its predecessor Casino Royale, is to be released on 31st October.

Alicia Keys Sounds Off on ‘Quantum’ Song .: || 09/17/2008 - 2:09 AM ||
So what to expect from the Keys & White tag-team? A soulful arc, Keyes said.
“It’s like this crazy kind of energetic hard song with valleys and peaks,” she said. “It has Memphis Horns on it. It’s a great mixture.”
Talking to MTV News last month, “Another Way to Die” collaborator Jack White had high praise for the 27-year-old pianist. While the feeling is certainly mutual – Keys said of their team-up that their “energy together is crazy” – the R&B singer saves her highest praise for, well, for Bond himself.
“I can tell you that it’s damn good,” Keys said of the upcoming movie, which she got to see early. “I’ve never seen a movie with a car chase, a boat chase, and a plane chase all in the same flick! It’s really good!”
Keys said she and White just recently finished the video for the song.

It's not easy being Bond. Roger Moore, who starred in seven Bond films in the 1970s and 1980s, recounts his days as the dashing super-spy in his upcoming memoir, "My Word Is My Bond," and says things weren't always as they seemed.
"Jimmy Bond had a big jet boat chase in `Live and Let Die,'" writes Moore, now 80. "I did quite a few run-throughs to practice and whilst banking on one such run, the engine cut out. I had no steering! I therefore continued in a straight line ... directly into a wooden boat house."
He instantly catapulted from the boat into a wall, cracking his front teeth and twisting his knee.
