Ranking The Bond Theme Songs .: || 11/15/2008 - 1:37 AM ||
Drew Kerr's five-word review of the new James Bond movie's theme song by Alicia Keys and Jack White: "Won't break bad song streak."
While Kerr works in public relations by day, his alter ego on the Web is Total Music Geek. He has taken it upon himself to rate the many individual James Bond movies' theme songs.
For Kerr, a "classic" Bond movie song is made up of several elements.
"It has to be seductive, and obviously have a spy-ish sound, usually that minor key," he says. "I think, in a way, you have to honor John Barry, who created most of the James Bond music through the years with his sort of 'horn stabs,' and the way he imagined the theme in how these songs would sound."
Kerr declares Madonna's "Die Another Day" the worst Bond title song of all time.

BOND...JAMES BOND: Glenn Reichle or Agent 007? .: || 11/14/2008 - 1:14 AM ||
When you meet professional celebrity look-alike Glenn Reichle you will be convinced you have rubbed shoulders with the handsome Hollywood actor Pierce Brosnan, one of several actors who has portrayed the delightfully suave secret agent James Bond in the popular film series.
Glenn's claim to fame began when he was a student at Oviedo High School. "The kids used to call me Remington Steele," says the 39-year-old Chuluota resident, referring to the 1982 television series of the same name starring Pierce Brosnan.
Then, after Pierce Brosnan became so successful in films as the adventurous James Bond, Glenn was often mistaken for the actor around town. In 2003, at the urging of friends and family, he decided to take advantage of the resemblance and put together a professional portfolio to distribute to local celebrity look-alike agents.

Bond almost became a dad in 'Quantum' .: || 11/07/2008 - 2:04 AM ||
Director Marc Forster has revealed that James Bond almost became a father in latest movie Quantum Of Solace.
The filmmaker told New York magazine that writer Paul Haggis's idea to have Bond look after the child of Casino Royale's Vesper Lynd was shot down by the producers.
He said: "Haggis had an idea they weren't fond of, and I didn't know if it would work or not. The idea was that Vesper in the last movie, maybe she had a kid, and there would be an orphan out there. It wasn't anything to insult the franchise. But they felt it wasn't particularly Bond - him looking for the kid."

EW 'Quantum of Solace': Bond Is Back! .: || 11/01/2008 - 2:52 AM ||
Bond has a black eye. You won't see it on the screen when Quantum of Solace opens Nov. 14 — it'll be digitally airbrushed out of the movie — but it sure is hard to miss when Daniel Craig arrives at Pinewood Studios on a balmy afternoon last June. ''We were doing a fight sequence a few days ago,'' the actor explains, showing off eight fresh stitches under his puffy right eye.
On Quantum of Solace, stuff seems to happen on a daily basis. In fact, there have been so many mishaps reported since shooting started last winter — a fire at Pinewood, cars taking wrong turns into lakes, fingertips getting chopped off — that the British press began calling it the ''cursed'' Bond movie. Still, don't believe everything you read in the tabloids.
The James Bond who all but limps onto this studio lot outside London, wearing a black Tom Ford suit and a matching shiner, may appear battered and weary. But James Bond the character — the superspy who's survived five decades of being dangled over piranha tanks, tossed out of airplanes, shot at with spearguns, and even being played by Timothy Dalton — hasn't looked this indestructible in years.

Daniel Craig: I’m just the caretaker Bond .: || 11/01/2008 - 2:49 AM ||
Daniel Craig has been winning rave reviews as the latest 007 – and some say he’s the best yet. But the humble actor admits to Rob Driscoll that he thinks someone else could do a better job.
“I think I’m only borrowing it, don’t you?” says 40-year-old Craig, about to grace the globe’s cinema screens once again in his second stab at the part in Quantum of Solace. “This is all great, but I think someone else is going to come along and hopefully do a better job than I’ve done and move it on. It’s not mine. It’s Ian Fleming’s, it’s the (films’ producers) Broccolis’ – I could say I’m the caretaker, but that’s a naff thing to say.”

Bond girl “traitor” say communists .: || 11/01/2008 - 2:47 AM ||
A Russian communist group has attacked the newest Bond girl, Olga Kurylenko, for her "moral and intellectual betrayal" in starring in a film about the "enemy of the Soviet people."
Ukrainian-born Kurylenko, 28, stars in the new James Bond film, Quantum of Solace, alongside English actor Daniel Craig.
"In the name of all communists we appeal to you, Olga Kurylenko, wanton daughter of unclean Ukraine and deserter of the Slavic world. The Soviet Union educated you, cared for you, and brought you up for free, but no one suspected that you would commit this act of intellectual and moral betrayal," the St. Petersburg-based KPLO group's statement read, going on to call James Bond "the killer of hundreds of Soviet people and their allies."

Bondtastic... The bizarre secrets of the 007 movies .: || 10/31/2008 - 2:49 AM ||
There was some embarrassment at For Your Eyes Only's Royal premiere, which was used as a fundraising event for the Year of the Disabled. The film featured as its opening scene a villain in a wheelchair being picked up by Bond's helicopter strut and then being dropped down an industrial chimney.
At the Royal premiere of Moonraker, the scene where Drax sets his dogs on doomed PA Corinne made Prince Philip leap from his seat and cry: 'Don't go into the woods, you stupid girl!'
The influence of the Bond films is so great that Nasa was thrilled to let 007 give the world its first view of the Space Shuttle in Moonraker - two years before the launch of the real thing.

Daniel Craig enjoys filming 'love making scenes' .: || 10/30/2008 - 3:38 AM ||
James Bond star Daniel Craig enjoys filming love making scenes because the on-screen romps make shooting whole movies "easier".
The super spy has had a gala time ‘romping’ Bond girls like Eva Green, and Gemma Arterton in new movie ‘Quantum of Solace’.
However, the hunk admits it's a welcome break from the intense action scenes throughout the rest of the superspy films, because he doesn't need to put too much thought into them.
"I'm an actor so I've been an exhibitionist for as long as I can remember,” Contactmusic quoted him, as saying.

Creators of the latest James Bond flick blew two million pounds after smashing 12 new Aston Martins during the filming of Quantum Of Solace.
The British luxury performance cars, which were donated for the Bond movie for the purpose of advertisements, were used to depict real-life crash scenes for the movie and are now beyond any use even for spares.
Gary Powell, the stunt co-ordinator, said the motors were smashed to fucking pieces and that when one DBS suffered more damage than intended, the producers simply ripped off a piece from a brand new car to continue shooting.

Aston Martin voted coolest brand because of Bond .: || 10/03/2008 - 1:26 AM ||
Think Aston Martin and inevitably you think of James Bond. It’s a relationship that since its introduction in 1964’s Goldfinger has outlasted each of 007’s romantic entanglements and become entrenched in the imagination of generations of movie-lovers. And now, proving the popularity of Bond and his power when endorsing products, the classic car company has been voted the coolest brand in a survey of over 2,500 people and brand experts for YouGov.
Those questioned for the survey were asked to rate brands in six categories – style, originality, authenticity, desirability, innovation and their uniqueness. Beaten to the punch by Bond and his top motor were the iPhone at second place (as featured onscreen with Kim Cattrall in Sex and the City) and the general Apple brand at third. Bang and Olufsen (whose BeoLab 5 speakers turned up in Bruce Wayne’s apartment in The Dark Knight) and YouTube (a memorable shout-out in Hancock) filled out the top five in fourth and fifth respectively.
