Discussing the “Navigational Legacy of the Emirates” by Hamid Al Zaabi | Gulf newspaper

Yesterday, Wednesday, at the Khor Kalba Mangroves Center, the Department of Culture in the Eastern Region organized a dialogue session with the writer Hamid Ali Nasser Saif Al Zaabi, moderated by Wadih Muhammad.

The session was attended by Muhammad Saleh Al-Suwaiji, Director of the Eastern Region Department of the Department of Culture, Dr. Ali Obaid Al Zaabi, Deputy Assistant Director of Branch Affairs at the University of Sharjah, Kalba Branch, as well as a number of officials and those interested in maritime heritage.

The conversation with the writer Hamid Al Zaabi focused on his book “From the Ancient Maritime Heritage of the Emirates” and the importance it represents as a reference documenting the elements and vocabulary of the maritime heritage, and an important source of information and explanations related to the methods of preparing and preparing fishing tools in the past and the effective role of women in that, in addition to the sources and references that Adopted during the period of writing the book and the difficulties it faced. Given that the maritime heritage is an integral part of the folklore in the United Arab Emirates, the writer made the purpose of writing this book to preserve the heritage and present it to future generations.
