HBO’s Emmy Award-winning original drama series “Euphoria” returned to HBO Max with the premiere of the first episode of the second season on Sunday, January 9.
Only on its first day on the platform, the production broke audience records in Latin America, becoming the most watched series premiere in the region by platform users.
The first episode of the new season of “Euphoria”, created and written by Sam Levinson, got more viewers than the first, in addition to being a trend in different countries of the region on social networks, on the day of its launch.
After the success of “Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts”, the platform’s audience shows strong growth at the beginning of the year and now with the numbers in just the first episode of the second season of “Euphoria”.
In Latin America, it exceeded the expectations of HBO Max, reflecting the interest of the local public for innovative and high-quality productions, such as HBO original series, with a complex narrative, relevant themes and an award-winning cast, such as the youngest winner of the Emmy and protagonist of the series, Zendaya.
The memes have not been long in coming around the return of the series, which is more raw and realistic. Even Zendaya warned that this was a product for mature audiences.
