Pelaos from 3 to 11 years old will be shot against covid-19 in 50 schools starting this Monday

The measure seeks to immunize minors with the first dose.

The District Administration announced thatAs of next Monday, November 8, the vaccine will begin for boys and girls from 3 to 11 years old, in 50 public and private schools in Bogotá, so they can get their first dose.

The mayor in charge of Bogotá, Luis Ernesto Gómez, assured that the goal is to be able to vaccinate the largest population of children in the month of November so that they can be protected in December.

“It is very important for these vaccination days for parents to give their consent and for the day of the vaccination they are accompanied by their parents, because this is established by the Invima procedures and the Ministry of Health ”, assured Luis Ernesto Gómez.

For its part, the Ministry of Health assured that, to date, more than 23,500 children have been vaccinated, but it is necessary to reinforce these vaccination schemes in minors.

“All minors must have informed consent for the vaccination process, which must be accompanied by parents or an older guardian that I can accompany in the process ”, indicated the Undersecretary of Health of Bogotá, Manuel González.

According to the district, Bogotá has 400 public schools and more than 800 thousand students and the idea is to take advantage of that installed capacity to advance the vaccination process against Covid – 19.

It should be remembered that in the capital they are 831 thousand children over three years of age have been enabled to receive the biological.

“The goal we have in Bogotá is to have a level of general protection or immunity close to 80% at the end of the year, in such a way that we are protected against the pandemic. By vaccinating ourselves we protect ourselves, also everyone. Do not eat a story, vaccines save lives, “said the Mayor in charge.
