The Turkish Defense Minister threatens the PKK with an Asir account in response to the killing of Turkish soldiers in Syria

Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar threatened the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) with a “difficult reckoning” after the killing of 3 Turkish soldiers on the border strip with Syria.

“Our punitive operations are continuing, we will reach the terrorists and traitors wherever they are, the blood of our martyrs has not and will not be in vain,” Akar said, during the occasion of commemorating the 107th anniversary of the Battle of Sari Qamish, in which tens of thousands of Ottoman soldiers were killed from the severity of the cold the day before yesterday.

He stressed that the Turkish armed forces, after the killing of the three soldiers, directly targeted the sites of “PKK terrorists” and were able to neutralize 12 members.

Yesterday, the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced the killing of 3 of its soldiers as a result of the explosion of an explosive device planted on the border strip with Syria in the Akcakale district of Sanliurfa province in the southeast of the country.

In a related context, the account of the US embassy in Turkey posted on Twitter a tweet containing its condolences to Ankara after the killing of Turkish soldiers in Syria.

The tweet read: “The US Embassy expresses its deep sadness over the killing of Turkish soldiers in an improvised explosive device attack near the Turkish border with Syria. We offer our condolences to the families of the victims and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
